Ford Truck has Plenty of Power

January 3, 2017 By Mark Chism 1 Comment

Ford PowerRealizations from a Yellowstone Adventure

We decided to get our Ford Truck after our 18-day 2015 family vacation to Yellowstone and back to Tennessee. We drove our 2013, Honda Pilot pulling the 2014 Jay Feather 18RBS camper. It became apparent to my wife and I that if we were to continue the travel adventure we would need a new tow vehicle. So the hunt began for the replacement.

Platinum Ford Truck

We quickly settled on a 4-door Ford truck. The question that remained was which one? I started with an F-250 diesel, you must have power, right? I looked at one locally. On our way home from Nashville, my wife and I ended up at Bates Ford in Lebanon, TN. I wanted my wife to test drive the truck as she was to be the main driver. We test drove a 2015 F-150 Platinum Edition with a built in tailgate step with Eco boost V6 and tow package. My wife honed in on the step in the tailgate.

We spent the next 2 days looking at other options on the lot. But never got past the step which none of the other trucks had. We bought the truck we test drove, but I questioned the engine choice as we planned a trip to Maine for our 2016 vacation! In January, we ordered a 2017 Lance 2295 travel trailer which was delivered in May.

Ford Truck plus Lance Travel Trailer – Bravo!

The Maine trip is complete and I must admit that the truck performed without a problem. When I needed power I simply stepped on the gas! We travelled the New York and Massachusetts Turnpikes with no engine drag at all. We traveled in the truck to Acadia’s Cadillac Mountain with not even a hiccup. This truck is amazing and powerful. My father-in-law travelled along in his diesel F-350 struggling through many of the days travel over the 16-days. While touring Acadia National Park I talked with a bicycle rider in the park who said some of his friends had the truck and Ford “got it right in terms of the v6 power”!

As my wife says, “Yes! I Love My Ford Truck!”

Let the adventures continue.
